Rating: - TO BE AVOIDED By Best Condition Books () The remote did not work and I was told by Customer Service that I had the option to return both player and remote for replacements or I could call a number I\'d be given and get just a new remote, which number I did call, since that seemed the more logical course to pursue; however, once connected, I was told that yes, they\'d send me a new remote, but I\'d have to pay for it. So I returned everything and ordered a different player, a more-expensive Phillips model, belatedly having realized that cheap is not always better. Two things contributed to that decision: the cord on this model is way too short, and most importantly, the on-indicator is a six-inch blazing bar of hideously-distracting blue light, which would make it impossible to fall completely into the world of whatever one was watching. On the plus side: the refund for the machine itself was tendered swiftly; on the negative side: I am out the almost-$10 shipping fee, which I wouldn\'t mind if the return were due to some vacillation on my part and not necessity over which I had no control. Rating: - Works great for us. By K. Child (USA) We bought this DVD player so we could watch some DVD\'s from the UK, which wouldn\'t play on our regular DVD player. We\'ve had it for over a year now, and used it multiple times without any problems. It\'s a great inexpensive region free player. Rating: - not worth it By sunshine & roses (CT) We received this dvd player as a part of a employee reward program along with the TV (also from supersonic). The player is fairly easy to setup if you know what you are doing (which took some research on my part) because the book doesn\'t explain much. I have also tried numerous times to play 3 separate dvds (that all work on other dvd players) and the results are varied. Sometimes it plays all the way through without pause or \'hanging\' and more often than not, it stops part way through the movie. When it stops, I can hear a rubbing noise (like it is trying to read the disk). From the point of setup, this dvd player hasn\'t worked well if not at all. There is no manufacturer phone number/addrees in order to try to get assistance. Bottom line, I do not recommend it. Read Full Customer Reviews | |
