Rating: - Excellent Product!!! By walker () This is one of the best Media players available on the market. In fact after experiencing the device features this is far more better product than western digital players.Big Bang for the bucks spent!! Plays rm format, plays .ISO files and DVD folders, subtitle feature is awesome, plays internet TV channels( plays Indian channels like sony TV etc.). All the more I like this product for the due diligence with which ASUS is providing firmware updates. After I brought the product within the last two months two firmware updates were released( I am looking forward to see is ASUS will release an update to play Hulu and[...] or play our own online tv channels)
Overall an excellent product and in fact I liked it so much that I made my friends buy the same :-) Rating: - Works as described By Surefire () Works as described. It plays some pretty demanding video CODECs @ 1920x1080 (full HD) without big issues (I experiences a bit of a slow-down during playback, only once though); considering how much data it crunches to play these files the unit runs cooler than I would imagine. This player seems to have issues playing professional CODECs such as DV/DVCPRO, but consumer level formats (xvid, etc) work just fine. If you\'re a downloader then you have nothing to worry about in the way of CODEC compatibility with this device. A firewire port would be nice (this device has USB & ESATA). Also don\'t lose the remote / have extra batteries on hand as the unit itself has no interface controls; all functionality is via the supplied remote.
**This device is a joyful alternative if you\'re the type to hook your computer up to your TV to watch TV/movies in the form of media files. Rating: - What an awesome little device. I\'M GEEKING OUT OVER HERE. By Benjamin Britton (Colorado, USA) Being an uber geek, I was looking for something that could play my divx, xvid, .avi, .iso, and other files.
1.) Connect ethernet. 2.) Turn on power. 3.) Enjoy.
That simple.
There are a few gripes in other comments about the interface not being pretty... but frankly I wasn\'t shopping for a pretty interface, I was shopping for a freaking awesome network media playing device; this is it.
Uber geek tested; Uber geek approved.
Get it. Rating: - Asus O!play. By ALI Z. Agel () Great HD player, but some codecs doesn\'t works well like some Xvid files and a4e codec, but after all Great and the best HD player currently. Rating: - Great Video Player By William Schultz (DUNDALK, MARYLAND, US) Great Video player. It\'s played everything I\'ve thrown at it, (AVI, Xvid, DivX, Mkv, Wma, MP3). Easy setup, added my 1TB external, plugged it to the TV using HDMI and shazam, up and running. Haven\'t used it in my network yet so, can\'t comment on that. The only bad thing I can say is it just doesn\'t like to stay turned off. If I just want to watch TV, every time I change channels it turns on. Little things like that make me crazy! If you think it would bother you, just pull the plug until you want to use it. Read Full Customer Reviews | |
